Betty Jean Weghorst
Betty Jean Weghorst, 71, North Vernon, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Weghorst was a homemaker and a former caretaker at Lincoln Place Apartments in North Vernon. She was a member of Women of the Moose, North Vernon Chapter 1314, and was a former Foster Grandparent. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing the organ.
Born Oct. 6, 1930, in Bartholomew County, she was a daughter of Elmer Lazzell and Nelly Mae Rose Lazzell.
Survivors include two sons, David Weghorst, Seymour, and Thomas Weghorst, Columbus; three daughters, Clarice Morrow, North Vernon, Jennifer Stringer, Greensburg, and Janet Eden, Swanton, Ohio; six granddaughters, Dawn Weghorst, Michelle O’Haver, Samantha Swope, Amber Goode, Ashley Elkins and Beth Eden; three grandsons, Paul Weghorst, Michael O’Haver and Jeremy Weghorst; two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Goode and Nathan Goode; and two sisters, Mary Lou Schuder, Florida, and Bernice Meyers, North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James Weghorst Jr. and Rodger Weghorst.
There will be no visitation and no funeral service.
Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
