Seymour Daily Tribune December 11, 2006 Kermit Ray Welliver Oct. 11, 1924 - Dec. 9, 2006 Kermit Ray Welliver, 82, Seymour, died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Heritage House, Seymour. Mr. Welliver was an avid camper and music lover who had his own band and played with the Bethel Ambassadors. He lived his entire life in Jackson County and was a member of Seymour Christian Church. He retired in 1987 as a draftsman from Arvin Industries after several years of service. He was a member of Knob Lake Campers and W.E. Campers, as well as FCRV, and he was the past state director and past president of Indiana NCHA. He enjoyed woodworking and riding and racing motorcycles, go-carts and photography. Born Oct. 11, 1924, in Jackson County, he was a son of Raymond Charles and Luella Edna Becker Welliver, both of whom preceded him in death. On Oct. 29, 1966, in Columbus, he married Mary Hunter Stoneking Welliver, who died in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Kay Williams; a son, Joseph Dean (Camile) Welliver; four grandchildren: Tamara K. (Fred) Bailey, Brooke M. Williams, Joseph R. Welliver and Crystal L. Welliver; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Delmo Marie Montgomery; six stepgrandchildren, Hank Marcus Linville, Samuel Lee Linville, Chaz Harrison, Devon Harrison, Maggie Harrison and Faye Harrison, and four stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Karl and Geneva Welliver, and a brother-in-law, Zona Montgomery. The Rev. Harold Barnett and the Rev. Bill Lockman will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Seymour Christian Church, Alzheimer's research or Hospice of South Central Indiana Jennings County.
