Seymour Daily Tribune James L. Wentland Jan. 19, 1942 – June 20, 2006 James L. Wentland, 64, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006. Mr. Wentland touched the lives of many children during 42 years of teaching in the Lutheran schools. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. He loved to read. Born Jan. 19, 1942, he was the son of Lewis and Anna Wentland. His mother survives. On Feb. 6, 1965, he married Sharon Leatherman, who survives. Other survivors include five children, John (Monica) Wentland, Todd (Rose) Wentland, Steven Wentland, David Wentland and Carrie (Eric) Wegener; eight grandchildren, Chloe, Taylor, Samuel, Christopher and Matthew Wentland and Isaac, Elijah and Joseph Wegener; and a sister, Mary (Steve) Blackledge. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez and Vicar Greg Truwe will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time service Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a Lutheran school of the donor’s choice.
