The Tribune Seymour, Indiana Friday, July 27, 1900 Page 3 DIED WHITE-Richard F. White died at his home on South Walnut Thursday night, July 26, at 10:35 p.m., of asthma and heart complications. He had been in ill health for several months, but a few weeks ago began to get better and was quite hopeful of regaining his health, but Wednesday night he was taken much worse than ever before. Richard F. White was born in Perquimans county, North Carolina, August 25, 1831. Emigrated to Jackson county, Ind., with his parents at the age of 10 years, the trip being made overland. From that time his home was in Jackson county. They settled on a farm but in 1876 Richard F. moved to Seymour. In 1852 he was married to Eliza Stanfield, who died in 1868. To them wrre born four children, Mrs. Nancy Ebaugh, deceased, Charles W., of Denver, Col., W.J., of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary Floeharty, of Seymour. In 1870 he was married to Mrs. Amanda L. Schwing, and to them were born two children, Clara Belle, who died December 16, 1879, and Herbert F., who is still at home and has been his father's assistant in business for several years. Mr. White was one of the substantial citizens of Seymour and had a large circle of warm friends. For fifteen years he had been in the coal and ice business and enjoyed a large trade. Some years ago he was elected city marshal, which office he filled with credit to himself and the people. He held other positions of honor and trust. He was a member of the K of P lodge and the Odd Fellows. The funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.
