Seymour Daily Tribune Mary Lou Ferguson Wiethoff October 18, 2006 April 1, 1920 - Oct. 16, 2006 Mary Lou Ferguson Wiethoff, 86, Seymour, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Wiethoff graduated from Seymour High School in 1938. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority, then later became a member of the Associate Chapter of that organization. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She attended Indiana University and belonged to Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She also served on the IU Alumni Council. She was true to her faith, as she was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church. She was also a committed volunteer to many organizations, including Girls Inc. of Jackson County and the Boys & Girls Club of Seymour and the Jackson County Chapter of Red Cross and a member of the Jackson County Unit of Indianapolis Symphony Society. Born April 1, 1920, in Seymour, she was a daughter of Helen McBride Spray and Frank Ferguson, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1943, in Seymour, she married the love of her life, Dr. Clifford Allen Wiethoff, who survives. Other survivors include four children, Janet Wiethoff (James H.) Price, Richmond, Va., and Dr. Richard A. Wiethoff, Barbara Wiethoff (Frank W.) Guthrie and John C. Wiethoff, all of Seymour; nine grandchildren, Joel P. Price, Frank W. Guthrie II, Kimberly Wiethoff Cooper, Ryan C. Guthrie, Mary Price Andersen, Robert A. Wiethoff, Ross C. Wiethoff, John Parker Wiethoff and James Cameron Wiethoff; two great-grandchildren, Eva Lucille Cooper and Mary Florence Cooper; and a sister, Nancy Williams Gerth, Clarksville, Tenn. A brother, Thomas R. Haley, preceded her in death. The Rev. Steve Cherry will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. A graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 12:30 p.m. to time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or Schneck Medical Cancer Center.
