Seymour Tribune Wilfred "Woody" Woodson 1930 - 2009 Wilfred "Woody" Woodson, 78, Seymour, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, in Seymour. Wilfred was born in Bartholomew County on April 8, 1930, the son of Tevis and Mary Coffman Woodson. He was the husband of Judy Trapp Hunnicutt Woodson, who survives. He was a member of Seymour Community Church. He served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 12, 1948, to June 11, 1952, during which time he fought in the Korean War. He retired from the telephone company after 25 years of service. He also worked part time at Wal-Mart for more than four years. Wilfred is also survived by sons Gary "Toad" Woodson and Timothy Woodson; daughters, Diana (Rod) Childers, Kathy (Chris) Bensen and Sherry (Jim) Wheeler; a stepdaughter, Kimba (Chester) Applegate; a stepson, John (Jenni) Hunnicutt; grandchildren, David Clyatt and Devin Woodson; stepgrandchildren, Jason (Rebecca) Kleber, Brett (Shannon) Kleber, Brittanni Kleber, Cara Hunnicutt, Kayla Hunnicutt, Mitch Hunnicutt and Jase Hunnicutt; stepgreat-grandchildren, Paige Kleber, Stephanni Kleber, Skylar Kleber and Marley Blocker; sister, Barbara Blewett; brothers, Jim (Joy) Woodson, Delbert (Earline) Woodson, Virgil (Sharon) Woodson, Ronnie (Janet) Woodson, Bob Woodson and Tom (Donna) Woodson; and sisters-in-law, Velma Woodson and Linda Woodson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Woodson and Bill Woodson; and sister, Wanda Roland. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Tom Woodson and the Rev. Frank Holt officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
