Hazel K. Wright, 87, Vallonia, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour.
Mrs. Wright was a member of Driftwood Christian Church and was a homemaker and worked part time at Vallonia Nursery for 25 years. She loved to hunt Indian relics and travel and she enjoyed her grandchildren.
Born Nov. 6, 1918, in Brownstown, she was a daughter of William Henry Jones and Freda Griffin Jones Leffler, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 5, 1938, in Osgood, she married Lester E. Wright, who died Dec. 5, 1996.
Survivors include six children, Karen (Robert D.) Phillips, Michael (Pauline) Wright and Timothy (Mary) Wright, all of Seymour, Linda (Melvin) Wheeler, Vallonia, Douglas (Carlene) Wright, Salem, and Mark (Vicki) Wright, Valdez, Alaska; a brother, Joseph W. Jones, Albuquerque, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Herndon, and a grandson.
Steve Gommel and Chris Criminger will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Hoosier Christian Village or Driftwood Christian Church.
