Seymour Daily Tribune February 24, 2007 Donald Calvin Wynn June 23, 1924 - Feb. 22, 2007 Donald Calvin "Cal" Wynn, 82, of Seymour and formerly of North Vernon, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Wynn retired from Arvin Industries as a quality control supervisor after 39 years. He was the owner of Serendipity Shop Furniture Stripping & Refinishing. He also owned a small nursery and lawn service. He graduated from Deputy High School, and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Vernon. He served as vice chairman of the Jennings County Republican Party, served on the Jennings County Council, and was township trustee in Montgomery Township. He had served as president of the Jennings County School Board and was a 25-year member of the North Vernon Lions Club. Born June 23, 1924, in Bunkham (Jefferson County), he was the son of William Elisha and Margaret Ellen Dooley Wynn, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Frances June Layman on June 23, 1946. She survives in Seymour. Other survivors include one brother, Vernon (Betty) Wynn, Deputy; five children, Gary (Lisa) Wynn, Greenfield, Donna Wynn, Carmel, Charles Brian (Marina) Wynn, Glenview, Ill., Bruce (Susan) Wynn, Seymour, and Brett (Mary Jo) Wynn, North Manchester; 15 grandchildren, Courtney, Thaddeus, Katie, and Matthew Wynn, Christopher Walsh, Milagro and Rosa Gali, Maria Kazim, Nicholas and Ciara Wynn, Elizabeth and Eli Wynn, and Blake, Emma, and Kyle Wynn; and three great-grandchildren, Halle Wynn, Troy Quintin Tolbert, and Aydin Alexander Kazim. Mr. Wynn was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha McKinley and Ruby Craig, and three brothers, William, Jesse and James Wynn. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.
