Seymour Daily Tribune April 10, 2002 Charles A. Zaring Charles A. Zaring, 72, Seymour, died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. He had been ill for several months. Mr. Zaring was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. In 1988, he retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 31 years. He also was a member of American Legion Post 89, Seymour. Born on Aug. 4, 1929, in Brownstown, he was the son of Wendel I. Zaring and Lillian Hoffmier Zaring. On June 3, 1956, in Wegan, he married Betty Wessel and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Rex Zaring, Brownstown; a daughter, Cindy (Ed) Bodem, Seymour; and three grandchildren, Holle Nicole Bodem, Chicago, Ill., Brent Douglas Bodem, Seymour, and Corey Alvin Zaring, Brownstown. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Blake M. Zaring; a daughter-in-law, Dana Zaring; and a brother, Wendel Zaring. The Rev. Mark Press will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Zion Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
