Nancy Barr, daughter of John and Martha Coats was born June 13, 1832, near Covington, Miami County, Ohio and died in her home at Bluff Point July 25, 1905, at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 12 days.
She was one of a family of 13 children, 7 of which with the father and mother preceded her to the haven of rest. While two sisters and three brothers remain to mourn their loss with her children and other relatives and many friends.
She was the mother of seven children, 3 boys and 4 girls; Martha, Louisa, George, Minerva, William, who departed this life May 9, 1898, Elisha and Osee. Besides these she leaves 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was left a widow about 3 years ago and her grandson has lived with her ever since. She died of pneumonia.
The funeral services were conducted at the United Brethren Church in
Bluff Point Thursday at 10 o’clock by Rev. Charles J. Roberts of this city.
