Marjorie R. Daugherty

3/17/1918 - 11/26/1995

Marjorie R. Daugherty, 77, of Portland, died at the Bluffton Clinic on Sunday. She was born in Adams County on March 17, 1918, the daughter of John J. and Eltie (Rose) Habegger. She married Okla L. Daugherty on December 25, 1940, and he survives.

Mrs. Daugherty was a homemaker and had been a telephone operator in New Corydon. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she participated in many activities. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Bob and Hal Daugherty, both of Portland; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Connie) Frisch, Portland; two brothers, Ralph Habegger, Decatur and Howard Habegger, Berne; two sisters, Mrs. Maurice (Edith) Miller and Mrs. Jack (Elsie) Affolder, both of Berne and several grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, November 29, at 1:00 pm in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland. Rev. David Smitley will officiate and burial will follow in the Daugherty Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2-8 pm Tuesday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials to the Jay County Cancer Society, Inc.
