Raymond E. Lindsey

Services for Raymond E. Lindsey, 75, 6065 East 900 North, Bryant, are set for 11 a.m. Monday in the Downing and Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, with the Rev. Paul Wohlford and Pastor Marvin Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Daugherty Cemetery at Bryant.

Lindsey died Thursday evening at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

A longtime farmer in Jay County, he drove a gasoline truck for Sinclair in Geneva for 14 years, worked for Farm Bureau, also in Geneva, and drove a school bus for the Jay School Corporation for 26 years before retiring in 1994.

Born Jan. 16, 1932, in Jay County, he was the son of Albert M. "Brownie" and Ida Mildred (Butcher) Lindsey. He attended Bryant High School and was a member of the New Corydon United Methodist Church.

He was married Sept. 13, 1952, in Geneva, to Sharon L. Teeple, who survives.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Lonnie (Rachael A.) Mertz and Barbara J. Cavanaugh, both of Bryant, and Mrs. Darrin (Rosemary K.) Black, Fort Wayne; two sons, Floyd E. Lindsey and James L. Lindsey, both of Bryant; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday.

Memorials may be made to the New Corydon United Methodist Church, 7318 E. Clay St., Bryant, IN, 47326.
