Imogene Cowan

Imogene Cowan, age 89, a resident of Portland in Pike Township, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at CrownPointe in Portland.

Imogene was born on October 8, 1928, in Adair County, Kentucky, the daughter of Walter and Myra (Elmore) Cowan. She attended Collett Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, cross stitching, and making quilts. She married James Cowan in 1944 and he passed away in 1993.

Greg Cowan (wife Patti) – St. Petersburg, Florida

6 daughters:
Sue Clifton (husband Bob) – Bluffton
Libby Fields (deceased husband Robert) – Muncie
Frankie Kunkle (husband Dick) – Portland Sharon Stout (husband Dean) – Ft. Wayne
Robin Alberson (husband Jeff) – Portland
Tammy Horn (husband Jeff) – Portland

4 sisters:
Rosa Denton – Marietta, Indiana
Geneva Bolin - Buffalo, Kentucky
Alberta Bailey (husband Vitis) – Columbia, Kentucky
Alene Burton – Franklin, Indiana

19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren

Preceded in death by a daughter, Jewell Sigler and a granddaughter Lisa Gannon.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2pm-8pm in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Billy Stanton will officiate and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery, Portland.
