Ora C. Glentzer

   Ora C. Glentzer, 87, a resident of Jay County died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, October 15, 2002 at the Jay County Hospital. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Portland where she was a member and Sunday School teacher of the Homemakers Class, member of the Dorcas Circle and Vice-President of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Wayne Township Modern Mrs’s. She was honored as one of Jay County’s Senior Citizens of the Year by the Cincinnatus League. She had worked as a private home health care giver for many years.
She was born August 20, 1915 in Adams County, the daughter of Benjamin and Maude (Bollenbacher) Hough. She was married August 20, 1932 to H. Darrel Glentzer; he died June 27, 1988.

   Surviving are three sons, M. Tod Glentzer (wifeVirginia), Kokomo, Bradley K. Glentzer (wife Denise), Portland, Michael D. Glentzer (wife Barbara), Ft. Wayne; two daughters, Cletes Rines (husbandJohn), rural Portland, Corenne McKinley (husband Roger), San Jose, CA; two sisters, Pearl Lybarger, Geneva, Mary Gillespie (husband Richard), Cincinnati, OH; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Asbury United Methodist Church. Pastor Keith Olson will officiate and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery.

   Friends may call at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home for 3-8 p.m. and then on Saturday, at the church, one hour prior to service time.

   Memorials may be directed to the Asbury United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
