Marilyn S. Loyd, age 82 a resident of Portland passed
away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at her home. She and her husband owned and
operated George Loyd Construction for many years. She worked in accounting
at Naas Foods in Portland for 23 years and then with Patriot Paint Co.. She
was a member of the Portland American Legion Auxiliary, Portland Moose
Lodge, and the Jay County Democrat Women.
Marilyn Loyd was
born August 23, 1936 in Jay County, Indiana the daughter of Harry and
Gertrude (Minch) Strohl. She was married to George Loyd and he passed away
October 11, 2010.
Survivors Include:
1 Son- Randy Loyd (wife- Julie),
Portland, Indiana
1 Daughter- Cheri Loyd, South Haven, Missippi

Daughter-in law- Laurie Loyd, Portland, Indiana
1 Brother- Joe Bill
Strohl (wife-Dinah), Redkey, Indiana
1 Sister- Carolyn Thomas
(husband-Wayne), Gaston, Indiana
9 Grandchildren and 11 Great
Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Loyd in 2002.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm -4:00 pm on Sunday in the Williamson-Spencer
and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held at
11:00am Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Phil Jellison will officiate the
services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Humane Society.
