Paul (Tom) Stroube

Paul (Tom) Stroube, 82, Route 4, Portland, a retired farmer, and carpenter, died Wednesday afternoon at his residence.

Born November 13, 1896, in Jay County, he was the son of John W. and Emma Myrtle (Franks) Stroube. He was married to Lottie Gardner, who died in September 1970. In July 1971, he was married to Clara Heniser, who survives. Stroube was a member of the Portland Grange.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Dr. John Stroube, L'Anse, Mich., and Glen C. Stroubne, Milton, W. Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Anna Louise) Loy, Route 3, Portland and Rosemary Shreeve, Portland; one brother, Jay Stroube, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Alexander, Mrs. Luther Hammitt and Mrs. Robert Bergman, all of Portland; four stepchildren, Ralph Burk, Portland ; Warren Burk, Geneva; Mrs. Don (Phyllis) Kelly, Portland and Mrs. Lester (Mary Helen) Bransteter, Decatur; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, with pastor Darrel Taggart officiating. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
