CLARENCE L. MACY DIES SUDDENLY LAST EVENING
Native of Community, 59, Dies at Portland; Rites Friday


Clarence L. Macy, 59, a native of ?? died unexpectedly in his trailer home in the Oakwood Trailer Court a mile north of Portland. Death occurred shortly after he suffered a heart attack. Mr. Macy had been up and around as usual yesterday and though not in the best of health, had not been sick.

Mr. Macy was a salesman and before accepting the position he managed a trailer court at Redkey. He had lived in Portland for many years.

Mr. Macy was born south?? of Berne June 16, 1896, the son of Adolphus and Margaret Jack Macy. He was married to Modjeska Thornton, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Lawrence E. Macy, Muncie and Bruce E. Macy, Fort Wayne; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Macy Wechter, Decatur; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Wechter of Speed; a half-sister, Mrs. C. A. Teeter, Geneva; a foster sister, Mrs. Thomas Rawley, Berne, and a brother, Virgil Macy, Portland.

Mr. Macy was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Portland American Legion Post.

The body is at the Williamson Funeral Home in Portland, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday.  Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, the Rev. Lawrence Wertz officiating. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery, with the American Legion in charge of military rites.
