Lucille Fairchild

Lucille Fairchild age 82, 113 Maple Lane Portland passed away Thursday at
her residence. She was born in Illinois on November 24, 1935 the daughter of
George and Helen (Oehlerking) Bleile. She was married June 7, 1953 to
William Fairchild who survives. She was retired from CTS in Berne and also
worked at Bearcreek Farms. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a 1953
graduate of Ela Vernon High School, member of Plant, Hope and Hoe Garden
Club, Receptionist for 30 years of Weight Watchers, Greene Twp. Kitchen
Kookies Home Ec and Yellow Rockers Square Dance Club. She enjoyed gardening,
canning, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are her husband William,
two daughters Donna Bailey (companion Mike Butcher) of Portland and Faye
Bailey (husband Bob) of Portland. Four grandchildren Greg Geesaman (wife
Brittany), Scott Geesaman (wife Lori) Jody Huey and Jamie Fairchild
(companion Chad LeMaster) and eight great grandchildren, Two sisters Louise
App of Obetz, Ohio and Lorene Parsley of Round Lake, Il. She was preceded in
death by a son Robert Fairchild and a daughter Rita Fairchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday April 28th at 11:00 AM in the
Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Laura Meier presiding. Burial will be
in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 –
11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Family Life Care or
choice of the donor.
