Ruby E. Shoemaker, 77, Bryant, died Saturday, December
16,1995, in the Adams County Memorial Hospital. She was born January
12,1918, in Jay County, Indiana, to William and Alice (Stewart) Ogan. She
was married January 15, 1938,to Albert Shoemaker. He survives. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Portland Friends Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are 3 sons; David Shoemaker,
Lafayette, Indiana; To Shoemaker, Berne, and Douglas Shoemaker, Westfield,
Indiana; 2 brothers, George Ogan, Port Charlotte, Florida, and Keith Ilah
Grile, Pennville; 8 grandchildren; and 65 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, in the
Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland. Rev. Scott Wagoner, Rev. Brian
Daniels, and Rev. Jerry Vincent will officiate. Burial will follow in the
I.O.O.F Cemetery, Pennville. Calling hours will be 2-8 p.m.
Tuesday. Memorials to the Portland Friends Church Scholarship Fund.
