Mustered as a comrade of Kendrich Post No. 441, Grand Army of the Republic department of Indiana on 15 Mar 1887. OBITUARY

MARY HAYES OF ELWOOD,

DIES OF WRECK INJURIES

Elwood, Nov. 23, --- Mrs. Mary C.Hayes, age 75, of 817 North Sixteenth Street, died at Mercy Hospital at 9:30 a. m. today from injuries received in an automobile wreck south of Elwood Thursday afternoon. The body was removed to the R. L. Jackley funeral home, but funeral arrangements have not been made. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Abbie Adams of Frankton; Mrs. Blanche Scroggins of Spiceland; and Mrs. Ruth Hartley, of Elwood; a son, Russell, of Frankton, and a sister, Mrs. Maude Eastman, of Frankton; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs.Hayes was born at Columbus, Dec. 5, 1870, the daughter of Wesley and Rebekah Comer, and married Cort Hayes in 1892. Mr. Hayes died a few years ago. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Zion Chapel Church.

The accident in which Mrs. Hayes was injured took place Thursday afternoon when autos driven by Ernest Conklin and George Qverman collided 3 miles south of this city. Mrs. Hayes was in the Conklin car and when first brought to the hospital was not believed to have been hurt seriously, but X-ray examination showed serious internal injuries.

Funeral Rites Set

Funeral rites for Mrs. Arvilla Hayes Adams, 73, of 1420 W. 10th St., have been set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Baker
Brothers Funeral Home. Ministers in charge will be the Rev. Donald Ward of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church
and the Rev. Verdean Owens of the Goodwin Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in the East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Baker Mortuary after 3 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Adams died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Americana Nursing Home. She had ill six weeks. Her husband Clarence J. Adams, died in 1960. Mrs. Adams was born in North Vernon, April 20, 1893, to Cort and May C. Hayes. She had come here 17 years ago from Frankton, and had been employed at the Watkins Laundry. She was a member of the Christian aid Missionary

Alliance Church.

Survivors include four sons, Clarence H. Adams of Elwood, Leslie C. Adams and Lester W. Adams of Anderson, and Robert K. Adams of Pendleton; five daughters, Mrs. Helen L.Baker, Mrs. Sue M. Clore, Mrs. Rosemary Van Ness, Mrs. Jaunita Zirklebach and Mrs. Marilyn Landes, all of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Blanch Scroggins of Spiceland, and Mrs. Lucille Hartley of Elwood; a brother, Russell Hayes of Frankton, 26 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Susie (Adams) Clore, 73, Anderson, Died Oct. 11, 1999 at ManorCare Health Services after an extended illness.

She was born June 25, 1926 in Frankton, and resided in the Frankton-Anderson area all of her life. She was a data processor for Ward Stilson Co. and retired from Delco Remy of General Motors after 26.5 years of employment. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 266, Anderson.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Walter Clore, whom she married Dec 21, 1946; daughter, Sandra (husband, Ron) Skillman of Anderson; son, Michael (wife, Laura) Clore of Fishers; Brother, Leslie Adams; four sisters, Helen Chapman, Marilyn Landes, Rosemary Hoppe, and Jaunita Brown; four grandchildren, Kelly Skillman and Kreig Skillman, both of Anderson, and Kylie Clore and Lindsay Clore, both of Fishers; two Great-grandchildren, Alexandria Skillman of Fort Wayne and Logan Skillman of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Arvilla Adams; four brothers, Robert Adams, Lester Adams, Dale Adams, and Ted Adams.

Services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, with Robert Bell of Bethany Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M. today at the South Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Church, 1920 N. Rangeline Road, Anderson, IN 46012.

Rosemary (Adams) Hoppe, 78, of Anderson, died Nov. 10, 2006, at Edgewater Woods, in Anderson, following an extended illness.

She was born June 2, 1928, in Madison County where she lived most of her life.

Rosemary was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Larry VanNess of Anderson; daughter, Janice Martz and friend Bob Buxton of Markleville; three sisters, Helen and husband Noah Chapman and Marilyn and husband Philip Landes, all of Anderson and Juanita and husband Carroll Derringer of Whitney, Texas; six grandchildren, Mike Wihebrink, John Humphrey, Danny Humphrey, Kerry Humphrey, Kandace Humphrey and Jonathon Schupe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her daughter, Cassandra Wellman; her parents, Clarence and Abbie Arvilla (Hayes) Adams; five brothers, Dale Adams, Ted Adams, Leslie Adams, Lester Adams and Bob Adams; and a sister, Sue Clore.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by Pastor Michael Schwartz. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Chapel.
