Lake County was formed in 1837. From 1832 to 1836 the area that was to become Lake County was part of La Porte County. From 1836 to 1837 it was part of Porter County. It was named for its location on Lake Michigan. Adjacent counties are Cook County, Illinois, Porter County, Jasper County, Newton County, Kankakee County, Illinois, Will County, Illinois. Project
In
March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the INGenWeb
Project. The idea
was to provide a single entry point for all Indiana counties, where
collected databases would
be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and
cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one
county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who
were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the
contents of the web page.

do not have access
to additional records. If you do not see the information you are
seeking in this site, I do not have it as everything I have is posted in
