Welcome! My name is Angel Jacobsen, and I am the Volunteer Coordinator for this Lake County, Indiana genealogy resource which is part of the Indiana GenWeb Project. Please spend some time browsing the site.

In June, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Indiana Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Indiana, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

When I became the Coordinator for this Lake County INGenWeb site, I decided to re-design the pages to make your research a bit easier. As a genealogist, my research consists of finding useful RESOURCES and searching DATA.

The RESOURCE page lists links to helpful genealogy resources that are outside this Lake County INGenWeb project. Each of these links will open in a new browser window so returning to this site will require changing "windows" - not using the "back" button.

The DATA page lists links to genealogy and family history data that pertains to people and/or places of Lake County. This data has been submitted by users, like you!

I've also added a SEARCH page to help you find information on these pages.
