Anton Carlson Family

Anton O. Carlson arrived in the US about
1870. He was born in Sweden in Dec 19, 1846, per the Lambs Chapel
Cemetery records. He married Elizabeth K. Peterson on 10 February 1874
per the WPA records. Elizabeth was born May 26, 1846 in Sweden and she
died March 5, 1927. She was preceded in death by Anton, who died April
16, 1921.
Their known children , all born in Indiana, as of this writing were:
1.
Edgar (Carl August Edgar) b. December 19, 1874 - He first married Hilda
C. ? in about 1899, she states in the 1900 census that she was born
Sweden October 1872 and she had arrived in this country in about 1893.
Hilda died April 4th 1921 and was buried in Lambs' Chapel Cemetery.
Edgar then married Caroline Victoria Nelson 6 February 1922. Caroline
previously married Samuel Norton in Porter Co., 25 July 1903 and he
then died 23 Mar 1920.
2. Peter
John b. March of 1879 in Indiana married Ellen J. Lindahl 4 Sep 1906 in
LaPorte Co., IN She is 22 years of age at the time of the 1910 census.
They had one son named Gustov b. 27 April 1907 and died 1975.
Ellen J. is the daughter of Swan Gusta Lindahl born Sweden abt 1859 and
Anna Christina born abt 1857. In the 1910 census Swan is still alive
and two of the their three daughters are still living at home with
them; Hannah M age 19 and Esther C age 11. What ever disaster befell
Gustov's parents, we find him living with his mother's mother in South
Bend, St. Joseph Co., IN in the 1920 census.
3. William
Anton b. December of 1881 m. Bertha M. Schumaker June 5, 1913 - She
being the daughter of William J. Schumaker of Springfield twp. William
and his first wife are buried in Lamb's Chapel Cemetery.
4. Susanna
M. born Jan 1884
5.
Amie<sp> or Emma C. May 1887 She wed Thure Carlson on 30
May 1908 in LaPorte Co., IN, He died 5 Jan 1945
* 1900 census Elizabeth states she had 6 children, 5 of which are still
living.
