Mrs. Beulah Diedrich, 90, of 1900 Andrew Ave., La Porte, died Monday, April 10, 1989, at 9:45 P.M. at Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 15, 1898, in La Porte, to Hiriam and Amanda (Aganew) Shippee and lived here 72 years. Mrs. Diedrich was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

In 1915 in La Porte she married William Diedrich, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are six daughters, Pearl Taylor, Leona Bernacki and Edith Mooney of La Porte; Violet Van Schoyck of Rolling Prairie; Betty Lou Hedgecock of Sacramento, Calif., and Evelyn Winkien of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons Donald of La Porte and William of New Buffalo, Mich.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two sons, one daughter, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 1 P.M. Thursday at the Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. David A. Schoop officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 9 P.M. and Thursday until the service. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

The funeral for Mr. Thomas Taylor, 70, of 1214 Greenway St. La Porte, will be at 1 P.M. Friday at Essling Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Ungrodt officiating. He died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997, at 3:55 A.M. at La Porte Hospital following a brief illness.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 6 P.M. Thursday and from 11 A.M. until the service Friday. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

He was born June 30, 1927, in Chicago, to Tom and Elizabeth (Gray) Taylor, and had lived in La Porte most of his life.

Mr. Taylor was a millwright for Local 1043, affiliated with the Northwest Indiana District Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, member of American Legion of Hanna, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

On Dec. 23, 1950, in La Porte he married Pearl Diedrich, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Karen Macalka and Cheryl Simpkins, both of La Porte, four sons, Allen, Dennis, Kevin and Randy, all of La Porte and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty.

Kenneth Diedrich, 44, of route 1, Three Oaks, Mich., died suddenly at 12:40 P.M. . Friday at E Street Division Hospital.

He was born in La Porte Dec. 18, 1927 to William and Beulah (Shippee) Diedrich and had been employed in the construction business.

He was married April 26, 1952 in Rolling Prairie, to Myrtle Bealor. Mr. Diedrich was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a WW II veteran; member of the American Legion Post, Union Mills, and Local 150 Engineers.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, John Paul Diedrich, at home and Kenneth Diedrich Jr.; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Panozza, Galien, Mich.; his mother, La Porte, two brothers, Donald, La Porte, and William, Chicago; six sisters, Mrs. Leona Bernacchi, Mrs. Eddith Mooney and Mrs. Pearl Taylor, all of La Porte; Mrs. Violet Van Schoyck, Rolling Prairie; Mrs. Evelyn Winkfien, Texas and Mrs. Betty Lou Hedgecock, California. His father, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 3 P.M. Monday at the Haverstock Funeral Home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, La Porte County. Friends may call at the funeral home from Sunday noon and until time of services.
