Emma Bauch Rickmeyer

Emma Bauch was born on January 22,1857. Her father was Henry Bauch and her Mother was Stephania Bauch. They lived in Laporte, County, Indiana. Her father was in maritime employment.

She had an older brother who went by the name Ed; his name was Charles Edward Bauch.

Sometime soon after the birth of Emma Bauch, her mother Stephania passed away and is buried beside her husband at the Patton Cemetery.

Henry Bauch married for the second time. His new wife was Menia Domke and she came directly to Laporte from Posen Germany in 1858 and married Henry Bauch the same year. Henry and Menia had two children, Augustave A. Bauch born in 1859 and Henry A. Bauch.  At this point the family is reported to be living near "Bald Hill"

Henry Bauch dies on April 15,1863 and is buried beside his first wife at the Patton Cemetery.

Menia Domke Bauch marries her second Husband Louis Schumm Sr. in November 1864. Menia and Louis have three children of their own Willie, Rosa and Louis Schumm, Jr.

The Schumm –Bauch household is a large family.

Emma was a member of St.John Lutheran Church. She married William Rickmeyer on the 23rd day of September 1880.

William Rickmeyer is reported to have been a schoolteacher with the German Lutheran School.

Their first-born daughter Lydia was born in1881. In 1882 their second daughter Rosa was born, she died as a infant later that same year. In 1883 Emma and William lost their daughter Lydia.

Emma Bauch Rickmeyer died on August 23,1887, of typhoid fever.

Her brother Charles Edward was killed a month later on September19, 1887 in a train wreck.

Emma and her family are buried at St.John Cemetery.
