Weston Notes

Along with the notes from a Diary, contributed by: Connie Novreske and outline from Mary Weston Wolford diary,
I am attempting to shed more light on the daily lives and earnings of this family through research and cross referencing.

In referencing the LaPorte County history and Old Settlers record we learn that Isaac Weston arrived in Indiana on or about October 19, 1834.
The LaPorte County history books state their arrival into the county at 1832.

Isaac Weston, referencing census reports, hailed from Massachusetts and was born there in about 1801. He wed Louisa Eliza Randall in Butler County, Ohio.
The book states that Louisa was born and reared in Virginia and later moved to Hamilton County, Ohio, but wed Isaac in Butler County, Ohio.
Isaac was the first postmaster of Otis and also built the 1st hotel there.
Although the name is misspelled as Meston in the 1860 census, he can be found there with his family and a brother Samuel (
who was about 2 years younger than Isaac). He is living with Isaac's family in the Coolspring area.
Isaac and Louisa are both buried in Eight Square Cemetery.

There are several on-line outlines that show Isaac and Samuel as children of Thomas Weston b. 1769 Massachusetts and d. Springfield, Ohio 10 Aug 1836
and Mercy Cary 1776, New Hampshire and died Cincinnati, Ohio 1829. These facts should be researched by each individual studying this family for the validity of these on-line notes.
