Although he was a loved and favorite son, brother and friend, he had higher prospects mapped out for him and is now with two little brothers who has gone on to Heaven before, and leaves one sister and two brothers to comfort the sad and disconsolate papa, mama, and grandpa. He had been in school only six short weeks but had not been idle in making friends and instilling thoughts into the minds and hearts of teacher and school mates which "Will not be like the rose to save, But like the evergreen to last forever." On Thursday morning little thinking of the accident which was to take him from us, he was unwilling to go to school and pleadingly begged to remain at home and at seven o’clock the same evening the cruel hand of Death came and apparently took the little life into its own care and protection. Thus another Star has been added to Heaven which will be one more inducement to lead us to think Death not only takes from us our loved ones but helps us to realize that God careth for us as a Shepherd careth for his lambs. The little form was laid to rest in the family lot in the Union Mills cemetery, and the last sad rites were performed by Rev. S. E. Smith, J. G. Schweitzer was in charge."
