A to G Burial Listing - Alphabetically listed

Rolling Prairie is a small farming community just off Highway 20 as you enter Rolling Prairie.
As we learn by reading some of the history of LaPorte County, Indiana; Alexander Blackburn donated the land
on which the Rolling Prairie Cemetery is located. Mr. Blackburn arrived in LaPorte sometime before mid-May of 1832.
He traveled by ox team, coming from the county of Sullivan, Indiana. He helped organize the first Presbyterian Church in
Northern Indiana in his log cabin in November of 1832. Mr. Blackburn is not buried with in this cemetery,
but at least 3 of Mr. Blackburn's children are buried in the Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Blackburn left LaPorte County sometime before October of 1853.

This cemetery is currently being reread and a location of burial listing will be made available at a later date.
Information for this cemetery being entered was taken from older records, additional donated information
and new photographs recently taken. For more history on Rolling Prairie visit Portable LaPorte County   and look under #48.
