Bedford Journal: Andrew J. Bagwell of Flinn Township died very suddenly on the 10th inst., of congestive chill. He was about 63 years of age and was a noted miser. There was $97 in silver found on the floor in the upper story of the house in a pile of beans in hull, and $1.10 in his pocket book in his pants pocket, and $600 was found buried under the hearth in one of the fireplaces of his house. A complete search of the premises was made and this is all the money that was found. He never was married and had lived alone for 20 years. He owned a good farm of 220 acres.
