SORRY SHE SHOT HIM IN BODY, ONLY WANTED TO CRIPPLE HIM UP

Bedford, Indiana, June 21–Elmer Scott, 45, shot by his wife Wednesday night, was in a dying condition today. Dr. M. C. Robinson said Scott could not recover.

Chester Davis, deputy prosecutor, said that a murder charge would be filed against the wife, Mollie Scott, if the man dies.

"I am sorry I shot him in the body," Mrs. Scott is quoted as saying, "but I intended to cripple him so he could not whip me. I hope he does not die."
