Museum benefactor Edward L. Hutton has written and published the story of his great-grandparents, Josef and Anna Maria (Lenz) Drehobl, and their twelve children, entitled "The Josef and Anna Maria (Lenz) Drehobl Family - from Kreuzberg, Bavaria, Germany, to Bedford, Indiana, 1883-1885." This attractive hardbound 514-page volume includes a 39-page photo gallery and traces the family's journey as they emigrated in the early 1880s from Germany and settled in Bedford, Indiana. The Lenz/Lentz/Lantz branches of the family are also extensively represented. Lawrence County history, interspersed throughout the work, has been collected from numerous 19th and early 20th century newspaper articles and county records. Accounts of four Lawrence County murders, and another that occurred in Chicago, Illinois, are also included. If you have roots in Lawrence County, enjoy genealogy research, or merely wish to learn about this county's history, this book belongs in your collection.
