SPRINGVILLE - Lushen E. Kidd, 67, of 1775 Popcorn Road, Springville, died on Wednesday, November 26, at his residence. Born March 30, 1936, in Kentucky, he was the son of Walter and Lizzie (Jones) Kidd. He married Donna Beals on November 8, 1974, and she survives.  He retired from Indiana Limestone Co. in Oolitic, and he was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Springville. Surviving with his wife, Donna Kidd of Springville, are one son, Danny Kidd of Bloomington; one daughter, Janet Robinson of Bedford; three stepsons, Wendell Kidd and Troy Harris, both of Spencer, and Bleven Harris of English; two stepdaughters, Rita Atwood of English and Ava Hall of Bedford; five grandchildren, Missy Powell of Virginia, Gary Robinson of California, Allen Robinson of Bedford, and Shandell and Haven Roll, both of Mitchell; 10 step-grandchildren, Russell and Casey Atwood and Chuck Hall, all of English, Troy and Carrie Harris of Spencer, Mark and Kevin North, both of Bloomington, and Joseph, Jonathon and Elizabeth Kidd, all of Spencer; six great-grandchildren, Sierra, Robert, Michael and Donald Buskirk, all of Virginia, Kaitlin Robinson of California, and Matthew Kidd of Bloomington; four sisters, Ora, Esme, Cloe and Lilly; and four brothers, Benjamin, Edgar, Hulen and Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Myra Roll; one grandson, Randy Kidd; six brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary of Bedford with the Rev. Romer Reuter officiating. Burial will follow in Lowder Cemetery in Springville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, at the mortuary. TIMES MAIL 11/28/03
 
Martha E. Loder, 81, of Bloomington, died Friday at Bloomington Hospital.  Born March 16, 1918, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Austin and Ada (Strauser) Briles.  She was a retired secretary in the insurance business. She attended St. Paul United Methodist Church.  Survivors include one son, John Karl Loder of Bloomington; one brother, John R. Briles of Bloomington; one sister, Luella Harper of Bloomington; eight nephews and four nieces.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Loder, in 1965; and two brothers, Charlie Briles and Edgar Briles.  Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel, with the Rev. Brian White officiating. Burial will be at Louder Cemetery.  Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.  HERALD TIMES april 24, 1999
