$25,000 FIRE AT OOLITIC

Fire broke out in the business district of Oolitic yesterday and destroyed property to the value of $25,000; insurance $18,000. The general store of Will Brown, with its contents; that of Frank Holland and its contents, and the drug store of Ben George were burned. The further advance of the fire was stayed by tearing down the post office and the office of Dr. Short. The store building of J. L. Bush, a jeweler, was burned but the contents, consisting of $16,000 worth of jewelry that was in a safe, were saved by rolling it to the street. The Bell Telephone Company was a heavy loser by the burning of cables.
