KILLED ALONG SWITCH TRACK

Kinsey Bateman, of Decker, Was Run Over by the C.&E.I. Switch Engine Early Sunday Morning

HAD BEEN DRINKING DURING THE NIGHT

Kinsy Bateman, 48, of Decker, was killed about 5 a.m. Sunday morning by a C. & E. I. switch engine, near the Central Foundry plant just off North Second street.  The body was decapitated, and there were other injuries.  His remains were taken to the Gardner morgue and prepared for burial.

The funeral was held this morning at 10 o'clock from Gardner's chapel and the remains were buried in the city cemetery.  Rev. L.C. Bentley officiated.  He leaves two brothers, William Bateman of Hazleton and George Bateman of Switz city and four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Vowels, city; Mrs. Maragret Evans, city; Mrs. Olive Fitch, Washington, and Mrs. Marion Brown, Shoals.  He was single. - Vincennes Sun.

Mr. Bateman was a native of Martin county having been born in Lost River township and grew to manhood before moving to Decker, Knox county.
