Evidently she must have pleased them as these are her records for a couple of years after that

Remarks -- "I don't think you will have an 8th year. Hazel Clements and Elva Sayler are strong, the others are good with exception of Blanche Johnson, she misses so much and does not take so much interest with her work she seems to have other things on her mind.

Fleeta Lee will be a good fith but it is hard to keep up interest when only one is in a class.

Earl Layne, Ray Lee and Laird Layne were not promoted for they were so weak. Laird can't retain his knowledge. He has spinal troubles. If Elsie and Marcus do not forget what they have learned they are ready for the second readers. If you like you may start them in the second part of first reader. Elsie is with the second year in numbers. Marcus is weak in numbers.

Wishing you success in your school work, I am yours truly, Bertha L. Goff"

REMARKS

There will be a good strong eight year. The fifth have done good work with one exception and that is no.10 - she is out one day and perhaps comes the next then absent several days. She is poor but is going to try to make her studying this summer promote her. If you see fit pass with the rest of class. The third did well and are ready for the fourth but are so young. I would let them try the fourth. The first year have done good work. No 13 has spinal trouble and cannot learn or at best cannot retain knowledge but I think I would let him try the second. The school is a good school. In governing this school I think most the thing most needed is firmness on the part of the teacher. Wishing you all success - I am truly yours, Bertha L. Goff

Note: the children she speaks of do not coincide with the numbers in her grading scale above
