The 1878 Beasley Directory of Crawfordsville mentions Cooper as a New School Doctor with an office in the 100 block of East College. In 1880, he was found practicing in Walnut Township. He and his wife, Maggie had at least one daughter, Lizzie. Sadly, no further informatio could be found on the good doctor!
Note: He was born about 1822 in Pennsylvania, his wife several years younger. She was Margaret E. Girty whom he married 10 August 1873 in Wayne County (Bk C-K o 452). His marriage was also listed in the Richmond, Indiana United Methodist Church records.
