Tuesday about 12 o'clock at the home of his son, Quinn Kirkpatrick, five mi. southwest of this place, occurred the death of John Kirkpatrick, one of the best known and most prominent citizens of this community aged 77 years. For the past 9 years, Mr. Kirkpatrick has been suffering with paralysis and his death was finally the result of this disease. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a retired farmer and for several eyars has been making his home with his son. The deceased was born in Scotland and when quite a young man, he came to Canada where at the age of about 30 he was married to Miss Martha St. Clair, and together shortly after they came to the states, settling in the vicinity of New Richmond. Mrs. Kirkpatrick preceded her husband in death about 8 years ago. Mr. Kirkpatrick during the many days of his affliction was a patient sufferer. He was amember of the Methodist Church of New Richmond for many years. The deceased was the father of 7 children, Joseph die din young manhood, those surviving, being William of Farmington Iowa; John A and Quinn of New Richmond; Mrs. Harman Lidka, Mrs. Phillip Dewey and Mrs. Henry Jones, all of near New Richmond. The funeral will occur Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the home of his son, where his death occurred, the burial taking place at the New Richmond Cemetery.
