Although Mr. J. W. FRISZ has never fully recovered from his automobile accident, his unexpected death at 10 minutes after 10 yesterday morning came as a shock to the community with which he has been identified for so many years. He was 76 in March, and was born in Mt. Vernon, Indiana the son of John and Magdalena GATZ Frisz. He moved with his parents to Bowling Green KY where his youth was spent. He came to Terre Haute Indiana in 1881 and there married Elizabeth KINTZ who died in 1919. In 1928 he married Mrs. Pearl WHELAN of Crawfordsville. She was fatally injured in a car wreck near St. Petersburg Fla. March 2, dying March 17. He ran a grocery business in TH and was connected with successful business enterprises before taking over The Shakes from The Shades of Death Mineral Springs Corporation successor to Dr. Moore. He is survived by 8 children: Wilford and Fabian in Clermont, Fla; Mrs. JW Hauck in Evansville, Blanche, Paul and Leo in Terre Haute and Ethel and Clarence at The Shakes and by two step daughters, Doris and Florence Whelan of Crawfordsville. The funeral will be from St. Ann's Catholic Church, TH on Saturday Morning.
