WWI Liberty Guard

The Liberty Guard is now organized sworn in prepared to grow. Rev. OS Stewart is Capt., Lowell Spencer, 1st Lt, and CA Pletcher 2nd Lt. The company meets for drill every Thursday and when the good weather comes, they will doubtless entertain the town, evenings with fancy movements.

The County Food administrator has issued an order limiting sugar to three pounds per person per month. This may be bought in quantities of 5# at at time. One sack of flour in town and two sacks of flour in the country is the limit on one purchase. No suckling pigs or calves may be killed. Farmers may kill sufficient meat for their own use, but none for sale.

All farmers in Brown Twp must make returns at once of all wheat they are holding. This order was sent to me by long distance and demands immediate attention as report shall leave me not later than Monday April 2. FW Kritz
