JOHN ARTHUR STINCHCOMB
An interesting aspect of John's military service is it began at Wabash College, in what I suppose was similar to an Officer Training. I would like to thank his son, Dick, for sending this great picture. It is unknown which is his father. The other photo is John and his lovely wife Betty. They would raise three children at 406 Dunn Avenue, in Crawfordsville where Dick was the Credit Manager for Sherwin-Williams Paint. After a lengthy illness, John passed away at 3:42 on the second day of August of 1998. He is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.
From Wabash, Dick was in the Navy (AS-V6) on the Ship Tarazed for about a year and a half (beginning at least 8-20-1942), possibly longer, but was in the service through some of 1945. He was born in the town of Morris, in Grundy County, Illinois the son of Arthur Edward and Cora (Olson).
