A.J. Bacon, son of John and Rennie Fawbush Bacon was born in Monroe Co, Ky, Feb 2, 1852, died at his home in Waveland Nov 8, 1924, age 72 years 8 months and 6 days. He was of a family of 15 children, four sisters and 10 brothers. On March 11, 1880 he was married to Lou T. Aterburn. To them were born six children, five boys and one daughter. Four of the boys died in infancy. In Sept of 1900 he and his family moved to Waveland where he has since resided. Mr. Bacon has been in poor health for some time but his death was a great shock for he was seemingly improving. He spent Saturday with his daughter, Mrs. Lon Jenkins and was in town in the evening and had been at home only a short time when the summons came. Although he had never united with any church he was an honest upright man and never did anyone a wrong. Besides the wife he has one son, Charles D. at home, one daughter, Mrs. Vernie Jenkins, a granddaughter, Lorene Jenkins a little nephew, Leroy Bacon to whom he had been a father, two brothers, Huey of Golden Gate, Ill and Turner of Witchita Ks a number of nieces and nephews and friends to mourn with those bereft, breathing a prayer for their comfort may God in his love and mercy administer the balm for aching hearts which the world cannot. Funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. J.B. Johnson. Burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery. - kbz
