Millie Baker, 75, Dies At Hospital Mrs. Millie McCormick Baker, 75, a resident of the Linden and Romney communities for the past 40 years, died Friday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, following an illness of six weeks. Born Feb. 26, 1883, in Owen County, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of John and Sarah Farris McCormick. She married James Baker May 21, 1908. The husband died Nov. 7, 1953. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Spencer Methodist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Virgil Whipple of Crawfordsville, Mrs. John Aleska of Oaklandon, Ind., Mrs. Curtis Perkins of Romney, and Mrs. John Swick of New Richmond; a son, John Baker of Romney, a brother, Ben McCormick of Lafayette; three sisters, Mrs. J. Samuel Gerkin of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Anna Knott and Mrs. Elizabeth Wood, both of Romney; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Russell E. Brown Funeral Home at Linden. Rev. Robert Shanklin will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery near Romney. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at noon Saturday. - kbz
