The sad intelligence was received this morning from California of the violent death of Mrs. Julia Pierce Baldwin, who was raised in Montgomery County and has many acquaintances hereabouts. It seems that she was out riding when her horse ran away and Mrs. Baldwin was thrown heavily to the ground, sustaining injuries which shortly resulted in death. The deceased was the wife of Charley Baldwin, a son of Jack Baldwin of Wesley. - transcribed by kbz
