Darlington News - G.N. Bolser, who has so long been sick here died Saturday noon. George was born near Alamo this county Sept 7, 1852. He married Malissa C. Barton Jan 12, 1875 and came to Darlington soon after where he has since resided. He was a painter by trade and continued to work as such until his health failed him. He complained for some two years and for the last six months had been confined to his bed. During all this time no one heard him complain although his sufferings at times were great. His disease and condition were such as to baffle the physicians and it was decided to hold a post mortem examination on yesterday morning. Dr. Parker of Colfax, assisted by the doctors here performed the operation which resulted in finding a complication of diseases, the worse being that of the brain. George was a good husband, father and citizen, and left a wife, two children, one brother and numerous friends to mourn his death. The funeral services were conducted yesterday evening by Rev. Spohr at the residence after which he was laid to rest in the IOOT (sic - IOOF) Cemetery. - kbz
