Jesse, the youngest son of J.M. Banta formerly of Byron, but now living in Elbow, Canada was killed by lighning July 25. He was bailing hay when a storm came up. The bolt killed the team also and set the hay on fire. His brother ran to help him but found him dead. He was 24 years old. kbz
