Mrs. Lillian C. Banta, 84, Country Club Road, died Friday evening in Culver Hospital. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Banta was four times married. She was first married to Harold Edward Rarig, then to John C. Webb, then Jesse Edward Lloyd and to Thomas W. Banta. All preceded her in death. She was born Feb. 14, 1888, at Redmond, Ill., a daughter of Milton Wyeth and Elizabeth Matthews Carrell. Survivors include three sons, George Wayne Webb of Maryland, Everett Lee Webb of Crawfordsville, and Lewis C. Webb of Crawfordsville; four daughters, Mrs. Percyenne Shelton of Elmdale, Mrs. Doyne Hunt of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Betty Curry of New York, and Mrs. Relda Kaye Goebel of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Inza Plummer of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Marjorie DeFrane of San Francisco; 28 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Willard Webb and Clark Rarig, and a brother, James Edward Carrell. Funeral services will be conducted at Hunt & Son Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. Monday with Rev. Bill Cato officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. - jlr
