Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bappert 64 wife of James E. Bappert, died at her home, 713 W. Pike Street at 5:45 o'clock Thursday morning. Death was due to complications from pneumonia. She had been ill since March 12. Mrs. Bappert was born Aug 15, 1869, daughter of Harvey and Eliza J. Owens. She was married Nov 17, 1897 to James E. Bappert. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church. The survivors include the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Leslie Bruce; a son, Augustine Bappert; a grandson, Ernest James; a nephew, Jesse Winton Reno; two nieces, Mrs. Frank Cornett and Sarah Lou Palmer of Alton, Ill and two brothers, William and James Owens of Little Rock, Ark. One sister, Mrs. Zale Reno, preceded her in death. The remains were taken to the Proffitt & Son Funeral Home where services will be Saturday afternoon 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. BE Antrobus. Interment in family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
