Obituary for Bayless C. Barker, found in Mrs. Grover Dowden's scrapbook

Bayless Barker, 69, died Lake View Hospital at Danville, Ill. at 6 o'clock Tuesday morning. He was operated on for a kidney complaint Sat. He has been confined to bed for 10 weeks. Surviving are the widow and five children: Mrs. Harry Youngblood of Terre Haute; Mrs. Edward Clark of Bloomingdale; Clay B of Kingman and Van and Gerold at home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Bayless Barker, 62, farmer, residing north of Cates, Indiana, passed away in the Lakeview Hospital at Danville Tuesday where he had been a patient for the past few days following an operation for Brights Disease [chronic or acute Nephritis] on Friday. He was one of the well know residents of that section. Funeral services were held at Cates Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Airhart in charge. Undertaker Fred Parham of this city was called and had charge of the funeral arrangements.

Note: his age does not jive but pretty sure same person - died at Lakeview - Brights disease -
