Gerald "Gib" BARKER

Dr. Gerald "Gib" Barker, 49, a former Rockville resident, died in an auto crash last Friday in Fontana, Calif. where he resided. Born Feb 14, 1920, he was a son of Brownie & Mary Delp Barker. He was a dentist and a graduate of Indiana Univ. During WWII he served 5 years with the Royal Canadian AF. Survivors include 5 sisters, Mrs. Helen Bosley of Beech Grove, Mrs. Velma Arterburn and Mrs. Margaret Jessup both of Rockville, Mrs. Lacreta Bailey of Louisiana and Mrs. Marshal Kopsheck of Ohio; four brothers, Harold and Richard of Greencastle; Joseph of NJ and William of Indianapolis and a stepson John Carmichael of Indianapolis. The body was brought to the Barnes Mortuary here where the funeral rites were conducted at 2 o'clock Wed. afternoon. Burial in Memory Garden Cemetery. - kbz
