Guy G. Barker, 72, a resident of Fulton Twp for many years died at 7 a.m. Monday Sept 12, 1960 at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient one day following a three year illness. Born Jan 2, 1888 in Parke Co, he was the son of Isaac and Mary Elizabeth Shoaf Barker. He was married 2-18-1900 to Ruby L. Smith, who survives. Mr. Barker had been a farmer and was formerly employed by the Nickel Plate RR on the section crew. He was a member of the Cates Nazarene Church and Camp 8766 Modern Woodmen of America. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Crowder and Mrs. Ruth Crowder both of Cates; a son, James at home, a sister, Mrs. Mamie Tunin of Kingman Rt 2; 5 grandchildren ; and 13 greats. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cates Naz. Ch, Rev Lela Watson and the Rev Mr. Newfelt will officiate with burial in Harveysburg Cem. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral home where friends will be received after noon Tuesday. Rockville Tribune Thurs, June 14, 1962 pg 1 - Henry Manson Barker, 91 years old of the Grange Corner community, died at 2 o'clock Friday at the Allen Nursing Home at Rockville. A retired farmer, Mr. Barker was formerly supervisor of Sugar Creek township roads. Mr. Barker had been blind in one eye since he was 8 years old and totally blind for over 40 years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fauneal Wood of Rockville and Mrs. Geraldine Holland of Waveland, two sons, Henry Barker of South Bend and Earl Barker of Marshall; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A son, Virgil (Doc) Harper of Boswell preceded him in death in December of last year. Services were held Sunday at the Friends Union Church at Grange Corner; with burial in Wolfe Creek Cemetery.  -- kbz
